The Challenge
The existing faux rock coping around the pool and spa had deteriorated, both above and below the waterline. Additionally, portions of the faux rock were attached to the pool bond beam, presenting a challenge in removing the old material without damaging the pool structure.
The Solution
Phase 1: Removal
- Carefully removed the deteriorating faux rock coping and spa spillway, taking extra care with the portions attached to the pool bond beam.
Phase 2: Concrete Installation
- Replaced the removed faux rock with a new concrete band around the pool, ensuring a durable and visually appealing finish.
- Applied a textured concrete finish to the entire pool deck and rock feature for a cohesive look.
Phase 3: Finishing Touches
- Colored the new concrete with Cocoa Parfait as the base and added Suede Brown accents for a warm, natural appearance.
Result
O’Grady was delighted with the transformation of his pool area. The new textured concrete band around the pool and the removal of the faux rock gave the space a fresh, updated look that blended perfectly with the surrounding environment.
