Ten years ago, Concrete Texturing installed our thin-cut flagstone on a residential back patio. I spoke with the client recently, and she shared an interesting story.
She told me that the surface has never been resealed (although we recommend having it done every 3 to 4 years.) While the coating has faded (which is to be expected after 10 years without resealing), there are no signs of peeling colors or texture. In fact, a small layer of sealant still protects the patio.
She also admitted to hiring a competitor to install a stamped overlay in her front courtyard. The competitor’s initial product had looked so fantastic! But a quick look at the photo below reveals dramatic fading of the color after only a few years. While the texture remains in fairly good condition, the color in areas of sun exposure is lifting. In some cases, the color has eroded to the point that the cement is visible below.
Dissatisfied with how quickly the other company’s stamped overlay had deteriorated, the homeowner called them 16 months ago to apply their warranty. She discovered that they were no longer in business. When asked why she hadn’t hired Concrete Texturing to do the work, she said a friend talked her into using the other company.
Unfortunately, this homeowner’s story isn’t unique.
When choosing a decorative concrete company, make sure to confirm the durability of their products before committing. Many companies’ initial installs will look gorgeous and long-lasting. But the difference in quality one, three or even ten years down the road is what makes Concrete Texturing stand alone.
It’s no coincidence that she related this story to me before hiring us to add decorative concrete to her driveway.
Concrete Texturing’s superior products and installation techniques, coupled with our outstanding warranties and customer service, are what keep satisfied clients coming back year after year.
